I am a proud member of the National Association for Professional Women. This is a GREAT group of fierce business women who know how to get things done. I have the honor of speaking at this month’s event in honor of sexual assault prevention and stress awareness month.
The best part is all proceeds go straight to my favorite charitable organization Rape Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN).
Just last weekend, I was lucky enough to be invited to speak at the inaugural Life Lessons Academy Women’s Conference: Self-Reliance, Self-Respect – Empowering women through education.
It was a wonderful opportunity to meet other women who are making their life’s work to improve the lives of girls and women. The conference creator, Diane Lutovsky, was inspired by her mother who admitted that she lovingly and consciously sacrificed pursuing her dreams to raise her three children. As a result, she felt dumb and unimportant–as if she accomplish anything. Upon hearing this revelation, Diane took action, determined to give all women tangible tools to pursue their dreams and derive a feeling of accomplishment from the efficacy needed to make things happen.
I had the opportunity to meet Kimberly Walker, a title holding pageant winner for the Miss America Plus. She inspired everyone with her courage to define what it means to be beautiful.
Working with all of these women, who are amazing in their own right, is very humbling. I look forward to more opportunities to work side by side with them as we continue to serve each other and give all women the support and encouragement they need to courageously stand in their power and declare their futures.
